ON THE COMMON BONDS BETWEEN THE PRINCESS AND THE PRESIDENT
"They had a lot in common; they picked up the struggle of those who were oppressed, people who were discriminated against".

THE QUEEN'S PARTY PLANNER OPENS UP ABOUT CREATING ROYAL EXTRAVAGANZAS
'Lady Elizabeth said: "What do you know about events?" and I said: " I like going to parties and that's about it"'.
A former singer, Harriet now juggles a busy family life with running Party Planners, which was established in 1961 by the doyenne of party organisers, Lady Elizabeth Anson.
Lady Elizabeth - a cousin of the Queen, great-niece of the Queen Mother and goddaughter of George VI - was at the epicentre of aristocratic society and she made it her business to help entertain them.
Throughout the decades, Lady Elizabeth Anson planned parties and anniversaries for the royal family including the Queen's ruby and platinum wedding anniversaries, the Golden Jubilee in 2002, the Prince and Princess of Wales's post-wedding party in 1981 and a glittering gala for visiting royal guests on the eve of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's wedding in 2011.
High profile clients included Sir Mick Jagger, Baroness Thatcher, former U.S.President Bill Clinton and Tom Cruise.
Harriet, her right-hand woman for 16 years, joined the company as a junior in 2006 and was thrown immediately into the deep end, organising the Queen's 80th birthday party.
